    dear Dylan,
Peak oil will be in OIL IN THE FAMILY. I have yet to upload it but I have a series of interview clips with Robert Kaufmann from the Center for Energy and Environment Studies at Boston University who among other things specializes in Peak OIL. While it is both a fascinating addition to the conundrum that I am presently engaged with, and Robert is,as ever, very articulate on the subject, the push to find energy in more remote places has been a part of a major push to transition from the “low-hanging fruit” which we have been “harvesting for 150years now. According to him, we know that we have reached the peak, the question remains more about the trail off: is it precipitous falling rapidly or is it a long slope? And also in reviewing and analyzing the data from existing records of the amount of major finds in relation to capital and time spent over the last ten years (despite advances in technology to locate) the drillers have little to show for it.
Unfortunately, while BP’s/Transocean Deepwater Horizon platform clearly found a serious deposit, it is unusual.
I would love to see what you are doing…
    Best,
    Jon
